Answer:

"Monitoring and control equipment is exempt from the requirements of
the RoHS Directive."

At least 99% of the components we use are already lead-free and we are working towards elimination of leaded components. However, this is a business where our customers greatly value continuity and simply discontinuing a whole range of products (as many companies have done) would cause many problems. There are also long term reliability issues with lead-free soldering; these are not a problem in the "disposable" consumer electronics sector but most of our products are expected to work for many years, in industrial environments.
