DIN Rail Converters

The KK Systems range of DIN rail isolated converters comprises of

  • The KD485-STD range - interface converters only, no processor or data buffering
  • The KD485-ADE range - interface converters with a processor, data buffering and predefined function
  • The KD485-PROG range - as KD485-ADE but can run application specific data/protocol converter programs (written in C)

The isolation of the KD485 is tested at 1500V AC for 1 second. It is 3-way isolated i.e. Port 1, Port 2 and the power input are all isolated from each other. This is unique and enables e.g. a single power supply to power any number of KD485s without compromising isolation or creating ground loops.

  5. KD485-PROG-422-20MA

    KD485-PROG-422-20MA

This interface converter is similar to the KD485-ADE with the addition of a 32kbyte EEPROM into which application specific data conversion programs can be loaded. It is typically used for protocol conversion applications. A MODBUS RTU SLAVE library is available to speed up the development of custom Modbus RTU converters.

    Port 1 is RS422 or RS485. Port 2 is 20mA loop (TTY).

  6. KD485-ADE-422-20MA

    KD485-ADE-422-20MA

The KD485-ADE-4XX-20MA is similar to the KD485-STD-422-20MA but inserts a microprocessor (with two serial ports) into the data path which provides data buffering and facilitates baud rate etc conversion. The RS422 or RS485 interface can operate as RS422 or 2-wire or 4-wire RS485.

Port 1 is RS422/485. Port 2 is 20mA loop (TTY).

  7. KD485-STD-422-20MA

    KD485-STD-422-20MA

The KD485-STD-422-20MA is an interface converter/isolator only and is baud rate and character format independent. Its main application is in isolated conversion between RS422 and 20mA loop (TTY). It requires a power supply in the range of 7-35 volts at typically less than 2 watts. If the built-in 20mA current source is to be utilised, the power supply should be 24V.

Port 1 is RS422. Port 2 is 20mA loop (TTY).

  8. KD485-PROG-232-20MA

    KD485-PROG-232-20MA

This interface converter is similar to the KD485-ADE with the addition of a 32kbyte EEPROM into which application specific data conversion programs can be loaded. It is typically used for protocol conversion applications. A MODBUS RTU SLAVE library is available to speed up the development of custom Modbus RTU converters.

Port 1 is RS232. Port 2 is 20mA loop (TTY).

  9. KD485-ADE-232-20MA

    KD485-ADE-232-20MA

The KD485-ADE-232-20MA is similar to the KD485-STD-232-20MA but inserts a microprocessor (with two serial ports) into the data path which provides data buffering and facilitates baud rate etc conversion. The KD485-ADE is intended for RS232 to 20mA loop (TTY), half duplex and full duplex.

Port 1 is RS232. Port 2 is 20mA loop (TTY).
