This combination of a USB485 converter and XLR cable is ideal for use with many professional audio controllers. The converter will plug directly into the USB socket of a laptop PC while the three pin XLR plug connects to the remote interface port of the controller allowing remote control using appropriate software.

XTA recommends this combination for use with their iCore software and DP series audio management controllers.

The USB485 is an isolated USB to RS422 or RS485 converter. It is ideal for laptops which do not have a physical serial port and cannot be used with a conventional interface converter. The USB port also provides sufficient power for a full-spec RS422 or RS485 interface capable of driving termination resistors and long cables.

The XLR cable converts the DB9 RS485 connector of the USB485 into a 3-pin male XLR 2-wire RS485 connector, as widely used with professional broadcast equipment controlled via 2-wire RS485.
