DIN Rail Converters

The KK Systems range of DIN rail isolated converters comprises of

  • The KD485-STD range - interface converters only, no processor or data buffering
  • The KD485-ADE range - interface converters with a processor, data buffering and predefined function
  • The KD485-PROG range - as KD485-ADE but can run application specific data/protocol converter programs (written in C)
  • The KDE485 range - a C user programmable converter with four serial ports, Ethernet, and USB

The isolation of the KD485/KDE485 is tested at 1500V AC for 1 second. The power input is isolated from the rest of the unit. This is unique and enables e.g. a single power supply to power any number of units without compromising isolation or creating ground loops.

  1. KDE485

    KDE485

The KDE485 is a C user-programmable protocol converter with many features aimed at modern factory automation and other professional and industrial applications.

It offers 2xRS232 RS422 2wRS485 serial ports and extensive connectivity features via Ethernet (TCP/IP), USB (VCP/CDC, MSC), optional ARINC429, and an optional isolated 16-bit sensor interface supporting PT100, PT1000, thermocouple and other sensors.

Custom software development is supported via a powerful license-free STM Cube IDE development environment which is preconfigured to minimise the learning curve.

  6. KD485-STD

    KD485-STD

The KD485-STD is an interface converter/isolator only and is baud rate and character format independent. Its main application is in isolated conversion between RS232 and RS422. It can also drive a 2-wire RS485 bus if the RS232 host provides RTS Control. Requires a power supply in the range of 7-35 volts at typically less than 2 watts.

    Port 1 is RS232. Port 2 is RS422 or RS485.

  7. KD485-STD-232-232

    KD485-STD-232-232

The KD485-STD-232-232 is an interface converter/isolator only and is baud rate and character format independent. Its main application is isolation between RS232 and RS232. It requires a power supply in the range of 7-35 volts at typically less than 2 watts.

    Port 1 is RS232. Port 2 is RS232.

  8. KD485-STD-422-422

    KD485-STD-422-422

The KD485-STD-422-422 is an interface converter/isolator only and is baud rate and character format independent. Its main application is isolation between RS422 and RS422. It requires a power supply in the range of 7-35 volts at typically less than 2 watts. The KD485-STD-422-422 does not support RS485 because its interface drivers are permanently enabled, but can be used for RS485 monitoring.

    Port 1 is RS422. Port 2 is RS422.

  9. KD485-STD-232-20MA

    KD485-STD-232-20MA

The KD485-STD-232-20MA is an interface converter/isolator only and is baud rate and character format independent. Its main application is in isolated conversion between RS232 and 20mA loop (TTY). It requires a power supply in the range of 7-35 volts at typically less than 2 watts. If the built-in 20mA current source is to be utilised, the power supply should be 24V.

Port 1 is RS232. Port 2 is 20mA loop (TTY).
